Valeria Ilareva specialises in human rights, immigration, and refugee law in Bulgaria since 2001. Her expertise includes procedural representation of foreign nationals before administrative bodies for acquiring residence permits, international protection, or Bulgarian citizenship. She also provides legal assistance at immigration detention centres in Bulgaria.

Beyond litigation and legal counselling, Valeria Ilareva leads the Foundation for Access to Rights – FAR, which is a licensed labour mediator (license No. 3570 from 01.08.2023, issued by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of the Republic of Bulgaria). Through this role, she supports the safe and lawful access of migrants and refugees to the Bulgarian labour market. FAR also operates migrantlife.bg, an innovative job-matching platform that connects migrants and employers, facilitates integration through employment, and promotes ethical recruitment standards.

Mrs. Ilareva represents her clients before national courts in Bulgaria and before European jurisdictions, including the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg, in cases concerning Bulgaria.
