1. Legislative Changes

None, however:

• Introduction of Policies:

  • Regularisation of Long Term Undocumented Migrant Scheme – until 31-07-2022

  • International Protection Regularisation Scheme – until 07-08-2022

2. Business Immigration

Employment Permit Regulations 2017 (list of eligible occupations updated).

Immigrant Investor Programme (€1M) & Start Up Entrepreneur Programmes

(€50K).

Business Permission (€300k) currently suspended.

Irish Short Stay Visa Waiver.

3. Employment-based immigration (work and residence permits)

Atypical Working Scheme.

Work for less than 14 days or less in any job or internship – entry visa

required/not required national.

4. Family based immigration

EU Treaty Rights – Significant delays in review applications.- Application process for family member of British nationals – Policy Documentation of 23-12-2020.

Domestic – Policy on non-EEA family reunification – updated December 2016.

5. Asylum

International Protection Act 2015 – Asylum/Subsidiary Protection/Leave to

Remain application all in one.

6. Deportation

Section 3 of the Immigration Act 1999 – still stands.

7. Citizenship

Irish Nationality & Citizenship Act 1956 (As Amended).

New application form introduced – Scorecard system for proof of residence

and proof of identity.
